Bio Bidet BB-600 VS BB-2000: What’s Best & Why

Shopping for a bidet can be challenging.

There are so many different features and it can be hard to know what you need and what you don’t.

I’m here to help clear up the confusion and let you know if that wireless remote really is better than just the standard wired control panel. (Hint: I think it is).

In this review of the Bio Bidet BB-600 VS BB-2000 I’ll cover:

  • How to decide if you need the BB-2000’s remote
  • The differences in spray modes including the BB-2000’s vortex mode
  • Differences in warranty terms between the two units

Let’s jump right in.

So, what’s the difference between the Bio Bidet BB-600 and BB-2000?

Both the BB-600 and the BB-2000 come with a heated seat, an air dryer, and multiple spray modes. But the BB-2000 also offers unlimited hot water, a longer warranty, a new and improved spray wand, an air deodorizer, and a wireless remote control instead of the BB-600’s attached side panel.

What’s different?

There are quite a lot of differences between these two bidets.

I go through them one by one and explain what they are and what it means for you.

Heating system

There are three different systems bidets use to heat the water.

Bio Bidet BB-600 heating system vs BB-2000 heating system
The BB-600 uses a tank heating method, while the BB-2000 uses the hybrid method
  • Tank heating (water is kept warm in a small tank)
  • Coil heating (water is heated as and when you need it)
  • Hybrid heating (a combination of tank and coil heating

The BB-600 uses the tank method. You’ll NEVER get an initial cold shock because there’s no need to wait for the water to warm up. It’s being kept warm in the tank.

However, the tank can only hold so much water and it will eventually run out (usually after a couple of minutes). The higher the pressure setting, the faster it will run out.

Plus, the tank is bulky and uses a relatively large amount of energy to keep the water heated. It uses energy constantly.

Different heating types use differing amount of energy

The hybrid method found on the BB-2000 is a more modern approach. It has the benefits of the tank method but without the drawbacks.

As you’re using the water, more is being heated by a coil in the bidet so it will never run out. The tank is also a lot smaller so the bidet isn’t as bulky, and it’s more energy-efficient.

Spray wand

The BB-2000 comes with a re-designed nozzle that focuses on two things

  • maximizing the effectiveness of the spray
  • maximizing the cleanliness of the nozzle

Spray holes

One major change is the shape of the spray holes.

BB-600 (left) and BB-2000 (right) have very different spray wands

The feminine wash on the BB-2000 is rectangular rather than a collection of little pinholes (as in the BB-600). This means you get a wider, fuller spray that’s gentler on your skin.

If you ever get sensitive down there, you’ll appreciate the softer nature of the BB-2000s spray.

The posterior wash spray hole has been enlarged so it’s stronger but doesn’t feel sharp.

Have you noticed a pattern going on here?

Overall, the new nozzle has a more generous spray that leaves you feeling more satisfied and with no doubt that anything was missed.

The material

Stainless steel (BB-2000) vs plastic (BB-600).

Stainless steel look and feels more premium than plastic, and there’s an argument to say it’s more hygienic. Because stainless steel has no pores, dirt can’t adhere properly and is easily washed away via the self-cleaning mechanism.

That’s not to say plastic is unhygienic. The self-cleaning mechanism still works effectively on the plastic nozzles of the BB-600.

Hydroflush self cleaning (BB-2000)

On the topic of self-cleaning, The BB-2000 has a new and improved mechanism.

Hydroflush

Hydroflush cleans the nozzle INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. Andy debris that has managed to find its way inside the nozzle is forced out with a burst of high-pressure water. Then the outside is rinsed as normal.

The BB-600 lacks inside cleaning. Only the outside of the wand is rinsed. Kind of like when I used to ‘tidy’ my room, but really I’d stuff everything in the wardrobes.

Wait. There’s more!

clean surge
CleanSurge

With the BB-2000, you can engage CleanSurge whenever you want. This is a special self-cleaning mode that gives a more thorough clean than just a quick rinse (what happens in the BB-600).

Nozzle replacement

Both the bidets offer nozzle replacements, but in the older BB-600, the feature is less well thought out.

You have to pull the nozzles off (and it’s not the easiest thing to do). If you push or pull too hard, you risk bending the nozzles.

That would be a DISASTER.

Bio Bidet quickly realized this feature wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be and decided to improve it.

Bidet lock-in-lock-out mechanism

The BB-2000 was the first (and possibly only) bidet to have a ‘lock-in-lock-out’ nozzle that can be removed with one simple turn.

No longer do you have to spend a few minutes wrestling with your bidet. And there’s no risk of ruining the nozzles when you get frustrated.

Spray modes

Okay I know we’ve been talking about the nozzle for a while now. This is the last one, I promise!

There are only a few slight differences here.

Kids mode: an auto-wash set up specifically for little ones. Stops your kids from having an excuse to mess around with EVERY button and then complain it’s not working.

Vortex: A blast of high-pressure, targetted water designed to get your bowels moving. Or for those days you need a little extra cleaning power. If you suffer from constipation, the vortex steam will be your best friend.

Remote control vs side panel

The Bio Bidet BB-600 uses a control panel built into the right-hand side of the seat. This is in contract to the BB-2000 which uses a wireless remote.

For me, a remote wins hands down every time.

Remotes look better, and they’re more functional. You don’t have to worry about twisting round every time you want to use a function or pressing the wrong button because your muscle memory isn’t as good as you thought.

Cold water when you wanted the dryer? NO THANK YOU

Control panels are often less complicated, but this is usually due to the fact the seats have fewer features and therefore fewer buttons.

They also won’t run out of battery (okay, this is annoying when it happens) and won’t go walkabouts. However, my bidet remote doesn’t go missing NEARLY as much as my TV remote.

Air deodorizer

A stinky bathroom will be a thing of the past with the BB-2000

It has a special filter that activates as soon as you sit down on the toilet. The filter removes any nasty odors from in and around your toilet bowl, meaning even if you’re having a terrible toilet day, the bathroom will NEVER smell.

You can walk out and confidently wave the next person in.

Nightlight

Do you often wake up in the night desperate for the toilet?

Me too.

The part I hate most is turning on the big light. It’s blinding!

The BB-2000 nightlight

The nightlight on the BB-2000 means there’s no need to turn the big light on. You can see where the toilet is, and as long as there are no trip hazards (i.e. bath toys) on the floor, you can safely make your way over without any extra light.

Warranty

Warranties are often overlooked, but having a warranty can save you a lot of stress (and money) if something goes wrong.

  • The BB-600 has a 2-year limited warranty
  • The BB-2000 has a 3-year full warranty

In real terms, that translates to:

Time since original purchaseBB-600BB-2000
1 year100% coverage100% coverage
2 years75% coverage100% coverage
3 yearsNo coverage 100% coverage

Both bidets offer the option to upgrade to a 6 year full warranty.

Dimensions and style

BB-600 dimensions vs BB-2000 dimensions
BB-600 (left) and BB-2000 (right) dimensions

The BB-2000 is much slimmer than the BB-600 (mostly due to the lack of side panel).

This gives is a more streamlined look and means it wont stand out as much in your bathroom.

The BB-600’s look isn’t as refined and to me gives off ‘hospital vibes’. That’s just my opinion though.

What’s the same?

That’s a LOT of differences, but there are some things the same.

Mainly the basic features you’d expect from any electric bidet.

  • Five shared spray modes (oscillating, wide cleaning, pulsating, feminine cleaning, rear cleanse)
  • Warm air dryer (250W, BB-600: Room Temp – 140°F, BB-2000: Room Temp – 113°F)
  • Bubble infusion (the water stream is aerated, meaning it feels softer)
  • Heated seat (55W, Room Temp – 105°F)
  • Slow closing seat (no more slams!)
  • Quick-release for easy cleaning (just press a button and the whole unit pops off)
  • Automatic power save (you can turn on low power mode and the seat will lower the temperature of the water and heated seat)
  • Auto wash (completes a wash and dry cycle automatically, takes away the need to press loads of different buttons)

Final thoughts

The BB-600 is a great basic bidet. It has all the essential features you’d expect and works like a charm. You won’t have any complaints, but you might find yourself thinking, ‘I wish it did this…’.

The BB-2000 takes it to the next level.

Small and big changes turn this bidet into an amazing machine that won’t leave you wishing for more.

I would personally go for the BB-2000. I’ve made the mistake in the past of going for a cheaper model, only to feel a slight twinge of disappointment every time I used it.

A bidet is a long term purchase. When you divide the extra money over a lifespan of years, it’s a lot less significant.

Who should get the BB-600?

If you’re on a tight budget or are just looking for a simple bidet that does the job but does it well, go for the BB-600.

It’s simple, sturdy and safe (a safe bet, but, you know, alliteration).

Who should get the BB-2000?

If you want to add that little touch of magic to your bathroom, go for the BB-2000.

It has all the core features you’d expect, combined with luxury extras that will bring you joy every time you visit the bathroom.
